SINGAPORE — Singaporeans overseas will be able to cast their votes for the General Election at 10 polling stations, including the latest addition of Dubai, according to a statement from the Elections Department (ELD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) today (Sept 3).

Overseas polling stations are located in cities where there are a significant number of Singaporeans, such as London, Tokyo, Beijing, Washington, Hong Kong, Shanghai, San Francisco, New York and Canberra. The Singapore Consulate-General in Dubai was designated as an overseas polling station this year.

The date and hours of the overseas polls will be announced through the Singapore media, as well as on the websites of the ELD, MFA and the respective Overseas Missions.

Registration as an overseas voter has been suspended since the issuance of the Writ of Election on 4pm on Aug 25 until Polling Day on Sept 11.

Every overseas elector who can vote at an overseas polling station will receive a poll letter from the ELD, which will be mailed to their overseas address. It will contain details on polling date and hours at his or her allotted overseas polling station.
