LAMC sets up website for Guns N' Roses wristband credit refunds

SINGAPORE — Those who attended the Guns N' Roses show on Feb 25 can finally receive refunds for unspent credits on their Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) wristbands.

The concert promoter, LAMC Productions, has set up a website (www.lamcrefunds4gnr.com) in order to process the refunds. 

Those who are eligible for refunds would have topped up their RFID wristbands via Sandpiper Digital Payments Asia's booths at the show, held at the Changi Exhibition Centre. One would need the eight-digit number on their RFID wristbands, and have a PayPal account in order to receive refunds. PayPal takes a charge of $5 in fees for withdrawals under S$200.

Sandpiper was the company in charge of the wristbands, as well as the payment system used to receive cash. Concert-goers had to pay for credits via credit card or cash at Sandpiper's booths at the venue. Credits were stored on the RFID wristbands, and were meant to be used for food and drink at the show.

Many found themselves with unused credits as bars and food counters at the venue were understaffed, leading to long queues. Some also ran out of food and drink. LAMC Productions fell under heavy criticism for disorganisation of the show, with many calling for refunds for their credits.

Up until this point, the refund process has been mired in organisational chaos between Sandpiper and LAMC, with both companies unable to reach an agreement over who should process refunds.
