5 questions with Liv Lo

SINGAPORE — When it comes to lingerie, lace and cotton are a must for Liv Lo.

SINGAPORE — When it comes to lingerie, lace and cotton are a must for Liv Lo.

“I will wear lace to feel sexy and cotton for comfort. I adore the bamboo cotton thongs from Cosset and the spandex jersey bras from American Apparel,” said the actress-model, who is of Taiwanese and Italian descent.

In addition to dipping her creative toes in the acting field, Lo is also the proud holder of a yoga training certificate. She initiated Stretch City (stretchcity.com), a yoga portal that locates the nearest yoga studios, local restaurants that serve the healthiest meals and shops to buy healthy food and yoga apparel from.

“I have (been practising) for more than eight years now. It was not common and trendy to practice back then, but I had heard of it and was curious,” she said. “I found out my friend was going and asked (her) to take me to a class. I have been hooked on it ever since.”

Q: Why do you love practising yoga?

A: Because yoga is complete. It involves your heart, breath, body, mind, and does not harm yourself, anyone, or anything.

Q: Do your daily outfits revolve around your love for yoga as well?

A: It usually consists of what I’ll need for the day. I find that it can get cold indoors in Singapore, so I’ll usually wear something with sleeves. (French label) Celine is my go-to-bag — it fits everything I need, my Macbook Air, yoga apparel, portable charger, etc. The great thing about yoga is that shoes are not required.

Q: We understand that Stretch City will be creating a line with local apparel brand Love, Bonito soon. Could you tell us more about it?

A: The collection (out this summer) will include my favourite sportswear and fashionably functional pieces from my years in training.

Q: So, when you do dress up, what do you think perfects the outfit?

A: If I am dressing up, I would say a nice pair of heels. It has the ability to automatically dress up and complete any outfit — except exercise apparel. Whether in denim, slouchy pants, or even a comfy dress, put on a stylish pair of pumps or wedges to give you the correct posture and attitude. That’s what heels are made for!

Q: What will you be doing for Valentine’s Day?

A: I have organised a staycation at a boutique hotel for Valentine’s Day. I believe making a memorable experience with my partner is the best present I can give.
