SINGAPORE — If you’re going out on a date tonight, you can set pulses racing not only with what you wear, but by simply applying your perfume in all the right places.

Don’t just spritz it in the air and walk right through the mist, nor do you want to empty an entire bottle at one go.

As it turns out, where you spray your fragrance matters. Even more so if you are applying scents with sensual notes. Nailing the right spot can increase the intensity of a fragrance and reveal its full potential.

With that in mind, here are six of the most seductive pulse points — for him and for her — where you can get maximum mileage for your perfume or cologne.

THE ANKLES: Yes, you read right. This allows the scent to rise for a longer-lasting effect and leaves a trail as you move.

THE NECK: You probably know this one already. But apply some moisturiser before you spritz. Moisturised skin will help your chosen fragrance last that much longer.

THE WRISTS: This is another familiar spot, but many make the mistake of rubbing their wrists after they the apply. Don’t. Rubbing your wrists together will cause the scent to evaporate more quickly.

THE DECOLLETAGE: Another popular spot for ladies. But you don’t need to bathe in the scent. Just dab the fragrance at the base of the throat, collarbone, shoulders and chest.

THE TORSO: Guys, a spritz here is all it takes for the fragrance to diffuse evenly and subtly.

THE BICEPS: Just aim a little lower than the armpits. Putting your cologne here traps the scent between your skin and your clothing, which, in turn, makes for heightened longevity.
