SINGAPORE — She’s known for dishing out health and beauty tips during her programme, Hear Me Out on Love 97.2FM; but the svelte Wendy Zeng admitted to being deeply in love with food and constantly munches on grapes or bite-sized fruits during her lunchtime set.

“I eat almost everything! I have the appetite of a man,” she said. “During my health segment, I always share how deep-fried food like deep-fried lard isn’t healthy, but sometimes I can’t help but indulge deep-fried food.”

Zeng has been in the media industry for over 15 years now, and the DJ-singer-actress-host - and aspiring video blogger - said that she can never resist potato chips, French fries and dark chocolate. “It’s not sinful if it’s creamy dark chocolate!” she gushed, noting that the hot chocolate from Laurent Bernard Chocolatier (80 Mohamed Sultan Rd) is “delicious, satisfying and healthy” all at once. A tip from the guru: “You can enjoy what you like to eat, but don’t over-eat. Try to balance your food intake by having more vegetables, drinking lots of plain water and exercising to sweat it all out.”

> BREAKFAST: Beancurd with soy milk and a tiny bit of sugar syrup (S$1.20 to S$1.50) from Rochor Beancurd House, #01-436 Public Mansions, 423 Balestier Road. It’s simple and nutritious. I like something quick and easy to eat in the morning so I don’t have to spend too much time cleaning my teeth afterwards.

> LUNCH: Fried Hokkien mee (S$3) from Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee #01-32, Whampoa Market, Whampoa Drive Makan Place. I love any kind of noodles! I can be eating noodles at every meal and still not get sick of it. It’s strange because I’m normally not a fan of chilli, but I can’t eat hokkien mee without it. The chilli, together with the lime and deep-fried lard, makes the dish super irresistible.

> DINNER: Korean saba fish or beef rice set (S$6.50) from the Korean stall at Thompson Plaza’s Kopitiam Food Court. It’s got two choices, the fish and the beef. The ikan bilis kimchi is tasty and the rice they serve is similar to pearl rice. Very yummy!
