SINGAPORE — Your boss will say productivity is the name of the game, but being at the top of your game every single day often seems easier said than done. We've had a productivity mascot (Teamy The Bee) and a productivity song (Good, Better, Best) in the past, but if you still feel like you need a little something to up your game, then you might want to check out these "productivity assistants" — which can be found right at your fingertips — to keep you going, no matter how hard it gets.

Here are five of the best apps to download now that will help you get through the work week and be more productive than you ever thought possible.

1. CHECKY (for iOS and Android)

Think you might be picking up your phone to scroll through social media a little too much? Checky tabulates the number of times you check your phone every day. It doesn’t sound like much, but knowing you’ve checked your phone 103 times before lunchtime is a surefire way to shame yourself into putting your phone down to focus on work.

2. EVERNOTE (for iOS and Android)

The granddaddy of mobile note-taking has been a favourite for years, and it’s easy to see why. You can take notes, make lists and add pictures and scribbles to those notes and lists. Our favourite feature, however, is definitely the audio recording option, where you can record a meeting or brainstorm while taking notes.

3. FREEDOM (for iOS, Windows and desktop)

Can’t seem to keep your hands off your phone no matter how hard you try? Download Freedom, stat. You can use it to block certain websites, apps (ahem, Pokemon Go), the Internet and even your entire device for a period of time so you’ll have literally no choice but to hunker down and work.

4. FOCUSBOOSTER (for desktop)

If you haven’t subscribed to the Pomodoro technique for productivity, it’s time to start now, and FocusBooster is here to help. The time-tracking app manages the short bursts of work and short breaks that’s key to the technique, helping you efficiently and quickly tick off items in your to-do list. It also tabulates your use of time in time sheets, to keep you aware of how you’re spending your time.

5. WUNDERLIST (for iOS, Android, Windows and desktop).

With Wunderlist you can create numerous lists, be it for grocery shopping or your to-dos for the day. You can set due dates and reminders, and share your lists. It’s a pretty straightforward app, but has a really user-friendly interface that makes list-creating so much easier to do.
