Volkswagen's CC revival
Singapore — The CC is Volkswagen’s four-door coupe. First launched in 2008, it got a facelift last year and now has a new, high-spec variant, the R-Line. Like other R-Line models (VW’s also launched an R-Line Tiguan SUV), it’s aimed at customers who want edgier looks and more equipment, but who don’t see the need for a full-blown performance model.

How does it drive?
Without all the extras, it’s basically the same 2.0-litre turbocharged model as before, packed with the added ability afforded by VW’s Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) suspension.
It’s effortlessly quick once you get around the slight turbo lag, is very comfortable (DCC’s different modes really do work), supports you if you want to go quickly and vice versa. It slips through the air quietly at high speed, although this means the view from the inside is less expansive than regular sedans.
Why should I buy one?
The R-Line labelling adds a full body kit and special 18-inch wheels, plus lots of standard equipment including navigation, a 10-speaker Dynaudio sound system and active xenon headlights.
The car still drives like a charm — it’s so competent and its all-round capability makes it very hard to dislike.
