New Audi A5 family hits the road

Audi has launched its new A5 coupe and, as with most things Audi, the new model is longer, lighter, more efficient and offers more load-lugging ability than the outgoing model. The new model will be up to 60kg lighter than its predecessor with a range of petrol and diesel engines, including a 3-litre turbocharged V6 TFSI producing 349hp that will power the fire-breathing S5 to a 0-100kmh sprint time of 4.7s. The new A5 doesn’t stray too far from the outgoing model in the looks department but does feature some new tech beneath the sheet metal, like a new electromechanical power steering system that Audi says adapts to the vehicle’s current speed.
