SINGAPORE — Fadzri Abd Rashid may come across as abrupt and insincere, and somewhat of a constant jokester. Then again, he’s more commonly known as Fakkah Fuzz, the comedian whose spitfire stand-up routine has earned him accolades in recent years. Yes, he has a persona that looms larger than life. And yes, he’s brazenly ludicrous.

“I like my food how I like my girls - soulful and a little bit hot,” the 28-year-old comedian quipped.

Prior to becoming a stand-up comedian routine, Fuzz first started out in a band, cracking jokes in between songs. Not long after, his constant goofing around eventually landed him his first hosting gig.

“They probably just wanted to get me as far away from singing as possible,” Fuzz said, adding that he gets nervous before performing.

“As much as I try to be cool, a ‘rocker’ or ‘gangsta’, I like sitting on my couch with a tub watching reruns of Friends,” he said. “Do you know what makes it even less gangsta? It’s strawberry flavoured. Real men eat strawberry ice cream.”

> BREAKFAST: I’ve had kaya toast and eggs or mee rebus for S$4, and nasi lemak for S$5. The nasi lemak is the “expansion pack” with fish and chicken. All of them can be found at Geylang Serai Market.

> LUNCH: Either the mee goreng or the nasi pattaya for S$4, and the chicken rice for S$4. I forgot the name of the chicken rice stall, but it’s famous so just look for the long queue at Maxwell Food Market.

> DINNER: At lau pa sat, you can get satay for S$10. You can go over budget with the satay, but you can’t not try the satay. You can also try the sambal sting ray at S$8. Laetitia Wong
