For couples who are looking to indulge this Valentine’s Day, how about enjoying an exquisite five-course menu at Italian restaurant and bar Caffe B, which comes with three wine pairings. At S$250++ per couple, start the meal with a light salmon tartare with avocado and mango, before moving on to the risotto prosecco which is topped off with pan-seared foie gras; or pan-seared tuna which is coated with pistachios and Italian spices. For dessert, the cafe-almond opera served with peppermint marshmallows and white chocolate praline will be a real sweet treat. This Valentine’s Day special menu is available till Feb 14. ANTOINETTE REVEALS SWEET CULINARY CREATIONS FOR THE SEASON OF ROMANCE

Impress your significant other with this gift of elegant confectionery from French restaurant Antoinette. The La Rose cake (S$12) is shaped like a rose with ‘petals’ made of dark chocolate chantilly and within the cake is a delicious grand cru chocolate mousse and almond nougatine. Or go for the Je t’aime (S$15), which comprises a heart-shaped chocolate emblazoned with the words ‘Je t’aime’. Add S$16 and you can get it together with nine chocolate cubes wrapped with citrusy yuzu ganache in a grande box. For S$30 more, you can get it with 18 chocolate cubes in a Antoinette box. SWENSEN’S REVEALS TIRA-MISS-U CAKE

This cake is a delightful treat for those who enjoy tiramisu after a meal. Casual dining restaurant Swensen’s has launched a new creation, the Tira-Miss-U tiramisu ice cream cake, which comes adorned with berries and macarons in the sweetest shade of pink. Priced at S$19.80++, it is valid for dine-in at all Swensen’s and Earle Swensen’s outlets till Feb 28. Take-away is available as well.

 

CREAMIER X WILD ROCKET’S CHOCOLATE TAU YEW TEMPEH CRUNCH

For the fourth and final instalment of the Creamier Collaborates fifth anniversary series, Creamier has partnered with chef Willin Low (of Wild Rocket) to roll out the limited edition Chocolate Tau Yew Tempeh Crunch. The fermented dark soy sauce caramel conveys a subtle hint of saltiness that cuts through the sweet ice cream; while tempeh (yes, that traditional fermented soybean cake) adds a delightful crunch. The Chocolate Tau Yew Tempeh Crunch will be available per scoop (S$4.50) and in 473ml pints (S$16) at Creamier Toa Payoh and Creamier Gillman Barracks. The ice cream will also be served at Wild Rocket when it reopens on March 1.

 

BOOKING AHEAD: SHARE THE VALENTINE’S DAY LOVE AT JAMIE’S ITALIAN

Italian restaurant Jamie’s Italian has prepared a special three-course Valentine’s Day sharing menu which will only be available from Feb 11 to 14. Highlights include the Valentine’s Day Antipasti Plank that comes heaped with savoury treats such as a selection of finest Italian cold cuts and cheeses; and the specially created Chef’s Valentine’s Day Double Tenderloin which is served with root vegetable slaw and Bearnaise sauce. Priced at S$188++ per couple, it is available at both its Forum and VivoCity outlets.

 

BOOKING AHEAD: LOBSTER BONANZA AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL, SINGAPORE

Mandarin Oriental’s all-day dining buffet restaurant, Melt Cafe, is launching a Lobster Bonanza feast featuring the crustacean as its main ingredient. Look forward to the cognac-infused lobster bisque with garlic croutons and oven-roasted lobster tail with brandy hollandaise. Or if you prefer local flair to your seafood, there is the Singapore lobster laksa topped with a quail egg and bean sprouts. Available from Feb 7 to 21, the dinner buffet is priced at S$75 from Sundays to Thursdays and S$85 on Fridays and Saturdays, with free flow of juice. Located at 5 Raffles Avenue. Call 6885 3500.
