With the Lunar New Year approaching, the pineapple is naturally the focus of many eateries, and Goodwood Park Hotel is no different. Their takeaway treats, namely the Auspicious Golden Pineapple and The Huat! Tart — are both beautifully crafted and ideal as gifts. Two new unique ‘Yu Sheng’ platters, the Prosperity Amberjack ‘Lo Hei’ and Fruity ‘Lo Hei’ with Rosemary Plum Sauce, are available as well. Diners can also indulge in savoury delights such as the Braised Pork Belly with Sea Treasures in Claypot and Braised Whole Chicken with Sea Treasures in Claypot. The Lunar New Year Goodies can be purchased from the hotel’s Deli, while the ‘Yu Sheng’ platters will be available at Min Jiang (Goodwood Park Hotel) and Min Jiang at One-North (No. 5 Rochester Park) for both lunch and dinner. SOI THAI SOI NICE STEAMS UP THE HOTPOT SCENE

Tuck into a piping pot of hot broth brimming with jaw-dropping fresh ingredients at this new Thai restaurant, Soi Thai Soi Nice. The latest addition to food and beverage group Sun Yee Holdings (that manages Atmosphere Bistro and Shin Sapporo Ramen), it is helmed by chef Worawong Phairit (Olay) from Bangkok. The highlight has got to be the signature Royal Thai Hot Pot that boasts a range of ingredients such as crispy roasted pork, crayfish and tiger prawns in a classic home-made Tom Yam broth. The Royal Thai Hot Pot is available as a regular pot (S$38.80 for two pax) and big pot (S$68.80 for four pax). If steamboat is not your cup of tea, try the Hor Mok Ma Praw (S$12.80), a steamed egg and otah stir fried with seafood and served in coconut shell, and the Kai Jiao Cha Om (S$7.80), an omelette fried with Cha Om, a rare herb well-loved by Thais for its distinctive fragrance. LITTLE HOUSE OF DREAMS PRESENTS AUSPICIOUS TREATS FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR

Online cake shop and party decoration stylist Little House of Dreams’s array of festive treats includes its very own pineapple tarts (S$28.80) as well as homemade cookies sporting six diverse flavours such as Earl Grey (S$26.90) and Orange Cranberry (S$22.80). Both jars contains up to 30 pieces. For the health-conscious, healthy snack delivery start-up Boxgreen’s Cockadoodledoo box will hit the right spot. The box comes with four nutritious festive treats — the Cranberry Chia Crunch Cookies (198g) with Chia Seeds and Cranberries, Magic Green Pea Rounds (234g) baked with premium purpleberry wholegrain flour, Soya Crisps (160g) with GM-free soybeans and Matcha Pineapple Munchies (264g) that are made from fresh pineapples and premium Japanese matcha powder. ME@OUE’S ELEGANT TAKE ON THE TRADITIONAL LO HEI FOR THE LUNAR NEW YEAR

ME@OUE has incorporated the finest ingredients from Japanese, French and Chinese cuisine into its Yu Sheng dish, so it comes with fresh salmon trout sashimi, hokkigai (surf clam) and Hokkaido ikura topped with shavings of black winter truffles. THYE MOH CHAN INTRODUCES PINE NUTS TAU SAH PIAH FOR CNY

Get your traditional snacks from heritage bakery Thye Moh Chan, which has introduced a Pine Nuts Tau Sau Piah — a traditional treat with a fresh new take combining sweet mung bean paste and pine nuts — for Chinese New Year. The bakery has also updated their Three Treasures Tau Sar Piah Set consisting of three unique flavours — the new Pine Nuts flavour, the Bak Kwa that comes with with savoury-sweet nuggets of bak kwa (barbequed pork slices) and the Longan that emanates a sweet fragrance. A set will contain nine pieces (three pieces per flavour) and costs S$16.80. The treats are available now at the Paragon and Chinatown Point outlets.
