Breadtalk's limited-edition range of Japanese pastries

A taste of Japan awaits you at local bakery BreadTalk, which has released a limited-edition range of Japanese buns and cakes. There are 10 treats which are inspired by Japan’s annual sakura season and its street food. Tuck into Hai! Cheese (S$28), which is a big treat of mascarpone cheese mousse and Hokkaido cheesecake, as well as Memoirs of Sakura, a cheesecake that is made with Hokkaido milk. Have a bite of Oh!Konomiyaki (S$1.80), a Japanese pancake with bonito flakes and smoked chicken. Or try Bacon Kushiyaki (S$2), drizzled with teriyaki honey. Available now at all BreadTalk’s stores; cakes in the edition are only at selected stores such as at Bugis Junction, Plaza Singapura, Raffles City and Chinatown Point.

Kraftwich by Swissbake introduces healthy gourmet sandwiches

Swissbake cafe’s Kraftwich has rolled out a new line of gourmet sandwiches. Eight fillings such as smoked salmon, smoked duck and turkey ham and cheese are available to diners. Each sandwich is priced at S$8.90, and sandwich bread is hearty and healthy, as it includes wheat, soy, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, rye and oats. For an additional S$2, diners can opt for a premium range of fillings such as pulled beef and Thai spicy chicken. Available at all Kraftwich stores. A selected range of Kraftwich sandwiches will also be available at selected Swissbake outlets, such as at Marina Bay Link Mall and Harbourfront Centre.

Seorae serves up affordable fuss-free lunch sets

Office warriors in the Central Business District can head to Seorae. The Korean BBQ restaurant is serving up lunch sets starting from S$10.90. Pick from signature sets such as Kkochi Platters with charcoal-grilled skewers wrapped in samgyeobsal (premium pork belly); and Budae Jjigae, a spicy stew with fish cake and tteoboki (Korean rice cake). Brez'n celebrates its six-month milestone with a revamped menu

Brez’n celebrates its six-month anniversary with a revamped menu. As a light but tasty starter, dig into the Gebackener Camembert, which combines soft, melted cheese from France and salad. For heartier fare, the Cheese Spatzle with a hint of nutmeg; or Brez’n Leberkase, a Bavarian meatloaf with roasted potatoes and crispy onion rings, should satisfy. Orchard Cafe and Intermezzo S$0.60 deal for earth hour

This dining deal has the second diner paying just S$0.60 for the Orchard Cafe and Intermezzo Bar’s buffet. Signature roast duck and golden suckling pig, as well as freshly-prepared La Mian are included in the buffet. The deal is organised as part of Orchard Hotel Singapore’s pledge to Earth Hour. On March 25, the hotel will be switching off non-essential lights, water features and turning up air-conditioning temperatures to advocate a positive impact on our environment. BOOKING AHEAD: 'A love for laksa' at Coffee Lounge

Executive Chef Foo Jong Kwang of Goodwood Park Hotel Coffee Lounge is paying tribute to laksa, with six delightful creations. Chef Foo’s dishes are made with homemade rempah (spice paste) and garnished with daun kesum (laksa leaves). Laksa with crab leg meat (S$21++), served with bean sprouts and a hard-boiled egg; or dry laksa (S$19) fried with fresh prawns, bean sprouts and fish cake slices, sound tempting. Those who love their grains should try the laksa fried rice, cooked with chunks of chicken and bean sprouts, and topped with crispy diced tau pok (fried beancurd) to give it extra crunch. BOOKING AHEAD: Ippudo's first Thai-Japanese fusion ramen comes to Singapore

Tom Yum fans, head to Japanese restaurant Ippudo, where a new dish will pay homage to the popular Thai soup. Tom Yum Tonkotsu Ramen is topped with two jumbo prawns, and marries Ippudo’s tonkotsu broth with authentic Thai tom yum soup to create a creamy broth with a sweet and sour punch. Available on April 3 at selected Ippudo at Mandarin Gallery, Mohamed Sultan, Westgate and Shaw Centre.
