AUTHENTIC PIZZAS AT CAFFE B. This new offering is part of the revamp of the restaurant’s Al Fresco Bar menu, which now features 14 authentic Neapolitan pizzas put together by its new Italian Pizziaiolo. Diners can expect traditional favourites such as stuff-fried pizza, a margherita for the simple burst of succulent tomatoes and mozzarella, the Pizza Quattro Stagioni (aka the four-seasons pizza featuring ingredients from the different seasons), as well as a classic Pizza Quattro Formaggi (four-cheese pizza), among others. Priced from S$23. Call

SOUTHERN-THAI MALAY DISHES AT SIAM KITCHEN. Featuring seven dishes with tastes unique yet familiar to Singaporeans, these new additions to its a la carte menu include the Kai Kor Lae, or Southern-Thai-style grilled chicken wings, and Khao Mok Gai, which is a Thai-Malay-style chicken biryani. The latter is a speciality in Southern Thailand’s Muslim community. The chicken drumstick is cooked with curry powder, coconut milk, turmeric, cumin, cinnamon and other Thai spices. Another southern speciality is the Khua Kling Gai — stir-fried minced chicken in a spicy yellow curry — which, unlike its usual curries, is a dry meat curry. BEST OF FOUR AT KEYAKI. From May 12 to June 13, the restaurant will be exploring culinary highlights from Shikoku, one of the four main islands of Japan. Master Chef Hiroshi Ishii will be showcasing the best of Kagawa, Tokushima, Kochi and Ehime with delicacies he has specially sourced from his visit to these four prefectures. From the oceans around Kochi, diners can look forward to dishes such as grilled lobster with cod roe sauce, deep-fried puffer fish and sea eel sushi. There is also Sanuki udon from Kagawa, made from Sanukino Yume wheat. Characterised by an al dente, chewy texture, it can be enjoyed cold with a dipping sauce or cooked in hot broth. Other highlights include Awa beef from Tokushima, and farmed Mandarin orange sea bream from Ehime. Three set menus priced from S$170, and a la carte options are available. Call 6826 8240.

JAPANESE-INSPIRED AFTERNOON TEA AT AXIS BAR AND LOUNGE. The menu features an array of sweet and savoury treats, including the signature Mandarin Oriental Singapore TWG green-tea-infused ice jelly topped with citrus foam. There are the ubiquitous chicken karaage and takoyaki, served alongside more inspired options such as lobster chawanmushi and miso beef pies. To finish, there are also cherry blossom scones, yuzu meringue tarts, and more. Priced at S$42 per person (S$80 for two), available throughout the month. Call 6885 3500.

HEARTY MEALS AT NINJA BOWL. Opened by the folk behind Chillax Cafe and Babette Restaurant & Bar, this new addition to the Duxton Road dining enclave offers an extensive menu filled with unique all-day brunch options, sandwiches and, yes, Ninja Bowls. These Japanese-inspired bowls feature items such as aburi chashu (torched pork belly) and yaki unagi (grilled eel) with the option to pad them up with quinoa or orzo pasta, too. The Noka bowl (S$14), for example, boasts slices of beef cheek braised for 24 hours in veal jus and homemade soy sauce. The Tsukiji bowl (S$16) comprises pan-seared tuna tataki, asparagus and edamame tossed in lemon juice and sesame oil. The traditional brunch staple of poached eggs and smashed avocado on toast is reinterpreted in the Tonkotsu Spirit (S$16), which also has aburi chashu pork belly and melted cheddar toast. Call 6222 8055.

A FEAST FOR THE FAMILY AT MORGANFIELD’S. This newly created Southern Family Platter ($108.90) is a smorgasbord of family favourites such as the creamy Crayfish Mac & Cheese, Southern-style crispy chicken drumsticks with honey butter sauce, and not forgetting a full slab of its signature Sticky Bones ribs. Other side dishes include char-grilled roasted golden sweet potatoes, and Mexican-style grilled corn with parmesan and paprika. Available until June 26. Call 6736 1136 (Suntec City) or 6694 3635 (The Star Vista).
