SINGAPORE — Gordon Ramsay is the latest celebrity chef to open a place at Marina Bay Sands (MBS). His successful Bread Street Kitchen concept is set to open at The Shoppes next year.
Modelled after its London counterpart, the industrial warehouse-designed restaurant and bar will offer British European fare.
The partnership between MBS and the Gordon Ramsay Group was announced today (Sept 10).
“I’m delighted to be opening in Singapore with a partner such as Marina Bay Sands, which is well known for providing world-class dining experiences in a market where people simply love their food,” said Ramsay in a statement. “The further expansion into Asia is an exciting move for us and will see our successful London concepts being transferred and tailored to this new market.”
The Michelin-starred television chef, who created a buzz in Singapore with last year’s hawkers challenge, has 25 restaurants around the world. MBS’ current line-up of celebrity chef restaurants includes those by Mario Batali, Daniel Boulud, Wolfgang Puck, Tetsuya Wakuda, Justin Quek and David Thompson.
“Gordon has an outstanding track record in his many different restaurant concepts and business enterprises. We believe his Bread Street Kitchen is the ideal concept for Marina Bay Sands as it will strengthen the world-class dining options that our visitors have come to expect from us,” said MBS president and chief executive George Tanasijevich.
It’s the second big news in Singapore regarding celebrity chefs this week. Yesterday, it was announced that Chef Andre Chiang of Restaurant Andre will be opening a new restaurant in Paris next week called Porte 12.
