Second Krispy Kreme Singapore opens at Raffles

SINGAPORE — Just six months after opening its flagship store in Singapore at Tangs Orchard, Krispy Kreme is launching its second local outpost, right smack in the middle of the Central Business District.

No doubt, a queue is expected long before the new store, located at Level 1 of Income At Raffles, officially opens for business at noon today.

In keeping with tradition, Krispy Kreme will reward the first customers in the queue on opening day with the golden ticket, which means a year’s supply of one dozen doughnuts a week.

Silver and bronze ticket winners walk away with six months’ and three months’ worth of a dozen doughnuts a week respectively. The next 100 in the queue recieve a dozen doughnuts per week for a month.

Said Krispy Kreme International’s Chief Marketing Officer Dwayne Chambers: “We are delighted about the new expansion ... and bringing the Krispy Kreme experience closer to the busy workforce at their convenience.”

In fact, patrons are invited to enjoy a well-deserved break at the store, over a doughnut and a hot cuppa, perhaps. In a break from the conventional over-the-counter service set-up, the new 80 sq m store seats 25 comfortably. It even boasts contemporary furnishings, free WiFi and charging points.

Joining its initial line-up of 16 flavours, which include the Original Glazed, are the recently launched Caramel Meringue Decadence, Icing Chocolate Curls, Chocolate Cookie Crunch and Double Chocolate Custard.

Exclusive to the new store is a customised creation named after the winner of the brand’s pre-opening Be An Office Hero contest on Facebook. Dubbed the Jenny Lim, this chocolate-Oreo doughnut will be available for the entire month. DON MENDOZA
