Each will be presenting five selected cocktails — comprising signature creations and those specially created for the event. Potato Head, for instance, will launch its new Cherry Pop concoction, featuring Plymouth Sloe Gin and Cointreau with light hints of pineapple and lime juice, “inspired by summer evening sundowners” at its flagship beach club in Bali.

While anyone can sample these at select bars, purchasing a ticket, which is essentially a set of eight colour-coded wristbands — one for each day, comes with a host of privileges, starting with free and exclusive entry to the opening party at Tanjong Beach Club tomorrow (March 7) where guests can meet all 10 of the event’s visiting international bartenders at one venue. Early birds to the party can even take advantage of the first 250 complimentary cocktails, served on a first-come-first-serve basis. More importantly, wristband holders enjoy a 10 per cent discount on cocktail tours (led by industry experts and some of the world’s best bartenders) and over 20 workshops, S$14 signature cocktails at all participating bars throughout the week, as well as complimentary and discounted cocktails (from S$12) at pop-up events.

The line-up of visiting bartenders (made possible by presenting sponsor William Grant & Sons) are equally enticing, comprising the likes of Nathan Beasley of Melbourne’s Black Pearl & The Attic, who is also last year’s Australian bartender to watch, winning both the Australian Bartender Magazine’s Bartender of The Year award and the Havana Club Cocktail Grand Prix Australia. He will showcase his winning creations at Sugarhall (on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings) and 28 Hongkong Street (on Thursday, 9pm till late).

Having spent the last six years building his career at one of the most renowned cocktail bars in New York, Employees Only (which was crowned the World’s Best Cocktail Bar at Tales of the Cocktail in 2011), Steve Schneider will also have the chance to demonstrate just how he managed to earn the title of fastest bartender in six different speed competitions held around the world. Schneider will be tending bar at The Cufflink Club (Tuesday, 8pm to midnight), 28 HongKong Street (Wednesday and Thursday, 9pm till late) and at L’Aiglon (Friday, 9pm till late).

Closer to home, Malaysian-born Hong Kong bartender Amanda Wan is perhaps best known as the first female bartender to clinch the title at the DIAGEO World Class Bartender of the Year Competition in Athens in 2010. Fans can catch her live at The Library (Tuesday and Wednesday, 7pm to 11pm), 28 HongKong Street (Thursday, 9pm till late) and on Friday (9pm till late) at L’Aiglon.

Tickets, priced at S$38 (excluding ticketing/processing fee for online purchases) per set, are available at http://curatedevents.eventclique.com or http://www.singaporecocktailweek.com.sg.
