A DISH FOR DAD AT COCOTTE. A deeply savoury special any meat-lover would appreciate, the black truffle boeuf en croute features a Cape Grim beef oyster blade encased in creamy truffle duxelles (a stuffing made with finely chopped mushrooms) and wrapped in flaky puff pastry. This lunch buffet of local and international fare is priced at S$42++ per person, and diners can look forward to a wide selection which includes the fragrant black vinegar and old ginger braised pork trotter, the cafe’s signature laksa and, yes, even a spread of durian desserts. Of course, fathers dine for free when accompanied by three paying adults. Available today and tomorrow. Call 6335 1771.

This lavish five-course set meal, priced at S$188++ (with a glass of Nomitarite Aji Wo Shiru, Junmai sake), starts with a decadent Wagyu somen, followed by a selection of sashimi moriawase, including hiramasa, kajiki maguro, hotate, and amaebi, and a deep-fried whole flounder. Highlight of the meal is the serving of True Kobe Wagyu A4 Sirloin Sumibiyaki, served with smoked salt, kabosu lime and yukari gohan. Not forgetting the housemade Nikka Whisky ice cream to end the meal on a high. Available for lunch and dinner, today and tomorrow. Reservation a day in advance is recommended. Call 6735 0308.

The wide selection includes handmade dim sum and signatures such as the crispy prawn in wasabi dressing, pan seared US ribeye in a sesame dressing, and its stewed mee sua with oyster in a crab roe gravy. There is also roasted pipa duck and braised pork belly with wood ears fungus, among others, from the live station. End with your fill of deep-fried durian ice cream, and pandan flavoured egg tarts.
