Weekend dining guide: Where to get your tasty treats (July 2-3)

ALL THE RIBS YOU CAN EAT AT MORGANFIELD’S. Talk about a buffet with a purpose. For S$40, diners at sticky ribs specialist Morganfield’s can have their fill of its signature Sticky Bones. Available from 11am to 4pm on weekends and public holidays only, the ribs comes with four different sauces: The all-time favourite Hickory BBQ, Smoked Peppercorn, Garlic BBQ and piquant Spicy Asian BBQ. The price also includes appetisers such as creamy mushroom soup and crisp garden salad, as well as its delicious sides such as homemade corn bread, grilled corn-on-the-cob and coleslaw. What’s more, for the month of July, every four paying adults will be entitled to a free Black Angus beef rib, worth S$74.90 (a la carte), as part of their buffet. NEW CELEBRATORY OFFERS AT CRAVE. In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya festive celebration, CRAVE has introduced new dishes combining local favourites — The Satay Nasi Lemak Set (S$5.90), Cendol Melaka (S$2.50) and Air Limau Selaseh (S$2.50) — for a limited time only. These are specially created for CRAVE by the owners of Selera Rasa and Rafee’s Corner. Available at all CRAVE outlets islandwide, including its seventh and newest outlet at City Square Mall, until July 15.

MORE CRAB-TASTIC VARIETY AT PARKROYAL ON BEACH ROAD. Just when you thought it can’t get any more indulgent, the hotel is expanding its selection of crab delicacies in the on-going Ultimate Crab Feast at Plaza Brasserie with the addition of six new, locally-inspired crab dishes. From now until July 31, The Petai Crab, Assam Crab and Kam Heong Crab will be available on a rotation basis, while the Coffee Crab, Ginger Broth Crab and Wasabi Salted Egg Yolk Crab will be added to the offerings from Aug 1 to Sept 30. They will complement the existing line-up that includes Spanish Crabs and Mediterranean Crabs, as well as the Singapore chilli crab, cereal crab, salted egg yolk crab, black and white pepper crab. Buffet dinner (available daily) is priced at S$75 per adult (S$45 per child), while the buffet lunch (Sundays only) can be had at S$68 per adult (S$41 per child). Call 6505 5710.

BIRTHDAY DISHES AT COCOTTE. To celebrate its sixth birthday this month, Cocotte has come up with four special dishes — three of which will be available throughout the month. These are the sea urchin and crab souffle (S$29++) served with a classic sauce americaine; seared Hokkaido scallops (S$36++) with roasted organic kabocha pumpkin puree, house-made Parisienne gnocchi and caper brown butter; and fresh Scottish plaice fillets with black truffle coated in Nantua sauce with creamed spinach (S$49++). Just for its birthday weekend celebration from July 29 to 31, Cocotte will also be offering a Cold Seafood Tower (S$160++) comprising half a Canadian lobster, half-dozen Normandes oysters, Norwegian blue mussels, marinated clams and fresh prawns. FISH AND CHIPS GALORE AT MANHATTAN FISH MARKET. The restaurant chain is giving its signature dish a makeover with not one but five new ways to have its popular Fish ‘n Chips. They include popular flavours such as salted egg-yolk sauce, and a sweet and savoury honey-soy sauce which are paired with quality fish, ranging from black cod to barramundi to cherry snapper. The last features crispy turkey bacon wrapped around the fillet (S$15.95), while the dory fillets are coated in a Korean-inspired honey-soy dressing (S$13.95). Available daily at all outlets. EURO Midnight specials at Brotzeit. Keep your eyes on all the balls this UEFA Euro 2016 season as Brotzeit Raffles City stays open until 6am on match nights with live screenings of all fixtures. From now until July 11, the restaurant’s Kick Off Specials Menu features its Currywurst (Pork Curry sausage with spicy potato wedges ($S$19.50), Nurnberger Grilled Pork Sausages served with Sauerkraut ($19) and even a portion of deep-fried breaded Camembert (S$12). Having half-time hunger pangs? Brotzeit’s signature Speck Fladen and Spinach Fladen (S$19 each) are the perfect play. Of course, these go well with its exclusive selection of draft beers from renowned German breweries Lowenbrau and Franziskaner, from S$9 to S$27. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available. SUMMER FRUIT PARADISE AT SHANG PALACE. From July 4 to 31, the restaurant’s master chef Steven Ng has come up with a summer fruit fiesta for the menu via 13 seasonal a la carte dishes that fused innovative interpretations of classic Cantonese dishes with fresh tropical fruits such as apricots, mangoes, plums and cempedak. Highlights include preserved young papaya with Rose Apple and vinegar; steamed egg with seafood steamed and served in an orange; and a watermelon bird’s nest parfait.
