SINGAPORE - On 20 June, fans will get the opportunity to meet the designer of Hello Kitty, Yuko Yamaguchi, who will be in town as part of the interactive event called Robot Kitty Singapore.

She will be hosting an autograph session, where a select number will get her signature with a hand sketch of Hello Kitty.

Held at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre Hall 403 from June 11 to 21, Robot Kitty Singapore has had previous runs in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shanghai.

Visitors can purchase a Robot Kitty or Robot K, and then take part in a quest to be “engineers” at the Sanrio Robotics Institute. Here you have to go through five interactive gaming departments – namely Design, Quality Control, Repair, Component and Energy.

At these departments, other Sanrio characters such as Melody, Keroppi and Batdz-Maru will get visitors have to undertake certain tasks in order to accumulating “Koins”, which can then be redeemed for parts or accessories that can be used to enrich the look of your Robot K.

At the Repair Department, for example, Melody get you to revive the malfunctioning Robot K with a pair of defibrillators.

Early bird tickets (S$11 for children/senior citizens; S$20 for adults and S$30 for the Robot K) will go on sale from April 11 to 21, thereafter general sales (S$14 for children/senior citizens; S$28 for adults and S$38 for the Robot K) will commence. These are available from Robot Kitty’s official website and selected retail partner stores.

Each of the admission ticket will come with a Gaming Card and can be used once on any day during the event’s run.
