SINGAPORE — Get ready, H&M fans. The Swedish fast fashion brand will be working with French luxury house KENZO for its next designer collection.

Announcing this in a press release today (May 25), H&M said KENZO’s creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon will be creating a collection of ready-to-wear apparel and accessories for both men and women that will be available in H&M stores here from November 3.

“We can’t wait to share with everyone the world of KENZO x H&M, with all of its creativity, fun and love of fashion,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

H&M’s annual designer collaboration has always been a highly anticipated fashion affair since it began in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld.

This partnership with KENZO follows last year’s wildly successful collaboration with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, which saw massive queues outside H&M stores in Singapore and abroad.

In an interview with fashion title Vogue, Johansson revealed that H&M had its eye on Lim and Leon for “a few years”, and that it is the right time to work with them now. She added that KENZO is totally different from Balmain as H&M likes to choose different designers to show different aesthetics to customers.

“With this collaboration with H&M we want to think big, push the boundaries and bring the new energy of KENZO to everyone around the world,” said Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, Creative Directors at KENZO, in the press release.

Lim and Leon joined the Parisian house in 2011 and have since shaped the brand with their love for bold colours and prints.
