Not just skin deep (Part 4) : Dior Beauty House at Changi Airport is a first for the brand

When travellers step into Shilla Beauty Loft, they now have a chance to cocoon themselves in boutiques by four luxury beauty brands, namely Chanel, Dior, La Prairie and SK-II. For Dior, it is the perfect opportunity to take travellers’ experience to the next level. The 54 sqm space is also the brand’s first and only boutique in an airport worldwide—and it’s sparing no effort to create a “dedicated experience different from stepping into the Dior stores” said Victor Saint-Pere, Area Manager for Parfums Christian Dior Travel Retail (Southeast Asia)

“This is an exceptional and unique shop where we can offer travellers dedicated and tailored services before their flight,” added Saint-Pere. “They’ll be invited to indulge themselves in our fragrance discovery, backstage flash makeup and personal skincare consultation and discover our unique collectibles.”

Ahh yes, those travel collectibles coveted by many a jetsetting beauty hoarder such as the miniatures of La Collection de L’avenue Montaigne only available at the Dior Beauty House and limited couture editions of Miss Dior Eau de Parfum with only 25 pieces worldwide. Shopping aside, Dior is also installing the brand’s first make-up artist at an airport and bringing its skin analyzer in January next year as a boost to customers. There are also plans for special activities such as personalised engraving services for perfume bottles during Christmas.

But the piece de resistance has got to be the 12 services offered here from fragrance consultation to a makeover in a flash. Several of them such as Relax and Detox Before Flying and the Power of Intense Hydration, which have been specially customised for travel-weary skins and to last no longer than 30 minutes for time-pressed passengers, include a facial and back massage. Even male travellers could sign up for two of them, namely the Light up your eyes and Relax and Detox before Flying. This is good news for sure. After all, wouldn’t looking and smelling fab be the best way to start a holiday?
