SINGAPORE — EVA Air’s highly-anticipated “Hello Kitty” plane will begin its Singapore-Taipei flights on June 21. But if you can’t wait that long, hop onboard its new Hello Kitty concept bus.

The airline has collaborated with Sanrio to design one SBS Transit double-decker bus on service number 14 where passengers will be greeted by Sanrio characters on the panels, ceilings, floor, steps, windows and walls.

“Our continuous aim is to make flying a unique and memorable experience. With the launch of a permanent EVA Air Hello Kitty jet for Singapore in June, we want to bring passengers a larger-than-life Hello Kitty experience, be it on the roads or in the air,” said Ken Wang, an airline representative in Singapore.

EVA Air is also featuring Sanrio characters such as My Melody and Little Twin Stars on the exterior of single-deck buses travelling on different routes island-wide. Bus service numbers include 10, 12, 130, 36, 39, 62, 154 and 159.

The Hello Kitty concept bus departs from either Bedok or Clementi Interchange daily. A spokesperson for EVA Air said the airline is unable to provide passengers with the specific departure times, which changes from day to day. Passengers are advised to check the SBS bus counters at both interchanges.

Meanwhile, passengers who ride or spot the bus can also win prizes, which include a trip to the United States onboard a Hello Kitty jet, if they upload a picture on Instagram using the hashtag #EVAAirHelloKittyBus. Contest ends Aug 6.
