Win the ultimate SG50 staycation during the Jubilee Weekend

SINGAPORE — The Esplanade is now listed as a place to stay on vacation rental site Airbnb, but no, the performing arts centre isn’t jumping into the property market.

The SG50 team has announced that it’s looking for its biggest fan to win a night’s stay on the Esplanade Theatre Stage on the eve of National Day. The stage will be done up to look like a Singaporean apartment in the ’60s — to fit the theme of A Night Through Time. The winner can also bring three guests along.

But it’s not only a sleepover. The winner will also get an exclusive tour of The Esplanade, as well as a chance to don Peranakan costumes and learn the traditional Joget dance from the Main Wayang Company. Also included in this prize are dinner at Esplanade’s rooftop restaurant and four tickets to the National Day Parade at the Padang on Aug 9.

All you need to do is submit a video lasting not more than 15 seconds wishing Singapore Happy Birthday. The most creative video wins.

It will be the first time that the Esplanade will allow visitors to stay overnight. “We look forward to hosting SG50’s biggest fan — and our first overnight guests — at the Esplanade Theatre.
