Find out why the Night Safari is Singapore's No. 1 night spot.

That moment when the sun sets and transforms day into night is best experienced at the Night Safari. As a myriad of fairy lights, curious sounds and mysterious silhouettes come to life, so too does the action at the Night Safari Twilight Encounters — the newly launched signature event at the Night Safari — will make your outing with friends or date night extraordinary. There’ll be mesmerising light-ups, animal light sculptures and entertaining animal character parades for an experience like no other.

Happening till Dec 10, and only on Fridays and Saturdays, let Twilight Encounters entice you to delve deeper into the night and discover why the Night Safari is Singapore’s No. 1 night spot.

JUMBO FUN FOR EVERYONE

With majestic tusks that never stop growing, Chawang, the Asian bull elephant and the Night Safari’s new icon, is a sight to behold. Only male Asian elephants have tusks and the older the animal, the more impressive they are.

At almost 40 years old, Chawang’s tusks are an indication of his grand old age. Standing at about 3m and weighing 4,523kg, you can’t miss this big, friendly giant. Catch Chawang in his element as he displays his natural skills and behaviour while enjoying his treats. Get to learn more about Chawang and his animal friends as you observe them at their most active.

You can also catch Chawang’s mascot at the Entrance Courtyard at 6.15pm and 7.15pm. Be sure to whip out your camera and smartphone for wefies with this mega star.

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT

A fishing cat perched by the stream, ready to pounce. Or the languid growl of a leopard stirring from its slumber, ready for supper. You’ll get to see and hear them all at the Night Safari.

Don’t be surprised, too, if your eyes make out fairy lights outlining the shapes of the Night Safari’s residents. Like ethereal creatures emerging from the velvety night, these installations can be seen when you follow the lit pathway in selected sections of the Fishing Cat Trail, Leopard Trail, Wallaby Trail and East Lodge Trail.

Then, it’s lights, colours and music when “animals” of a different kind come out to play. Catch the Pawsome Parade at the Entrance Plaza at 6.45pm and 7.45pm. Spot animal characters and the Night Safari’s tribute to the magnificent Chawang.

The light magic continues into the Illumi-night. Let performers brighten up your night with a heart-stopping light show at the Entrance Courtyard at 7pm and 8pm.
