Head to Amoy Street for the ever-popular Bloc Party on Sunday (April 23). Expect food from Ding Dong, boCHINChe and Employees Only, which will be rolling out signature dishes and drinks for the event. DJ Zig Zach and British electronic duo Maribou State will provide beats at the main stage. Also try out traditional games such as chapteh and five stones.

JOSEON KOREA: COURT TREASURES AND CITY LIFE

K-drama fans would be aware of the Joseon dynasty in Korea. Now, an exhibition, Joseon Korea; Court Treasures and City Life, will give visitors even more insight into the fascinating era, which has an impact on South Korea even today. The exhibition is showing some 150 artefacts from the National Museum of Korea and the National Palace Museum of Korea. Do not miss South Korean artist Ran Hwang’s mixed-media installation, in which her projections of a Joseon-era wedding couple seem to walk towards each other, amidst falling cherry blossoms. Entry is S$10 for Singaporeans and PRs, and S$15 for tourists. Children and seniors enter free.

FIESTA ON A GREAT STREET

Foodies, Orchard Road is launching its first lifestyle and shopping campaign, Fiesta On A Great Street. A food pop-up, the Local Gourmet Fiesta at Shaw House, will allow visitors to savour culinary treats from six restaurants such as Good Chance Popiah and Keng Eng Kee Seafood. Visitors can also participate in master classes where they learn how to make tze char dishes such as coffee pork ribs. The pop-up is organised as part of a collaboration with the Singapore Red Cross Society.

KIDZANIA SINGAPORE TURNS ONE

KidZania Singapore is celebrating its first birthday bash. The indoor amusement park gives kids the chance to participate in activities such as trying their hands at cooking, rock climbing, being a crime scene investigator, and even being a pilot. Kids can fill out a card with a quiz on KidZania, and receive an exclusive goodie bag. Kids aged four to 17 will get 30 per cent off their ticket in this birthday bash promotion, which is on until April 30.

The Siloso GrillFest features Singapore’s longest barbeque pit, measuring over 4.5m long. Look forward to food from Amara Sanctuary Resort, Wave House Sentosa and two new F&B entries in Sentosa - Ola Beach Club and FOC Sentosa. Singaporean music duo Jack and Rai as well as band The Jumpstart will be performing catchy beats to entertain the crowd.

GAME OF THRONES: A PENCIL MICROSCULPTURE EXHIBITION

Game of Thrones fanatics who are eagerly waiting for the premiere of the seventh season of HBO’s fantasy drama series should check out this pencil microsculpture exhibition. There, they will see iconic Game of Thrones motifs, such as the Iron Throne, the sigils of the houses, and Cersei’s new crown carved onto the tips of pencils. The sculptures were created by renowned artist Salavat Fidai has worked on a tiny space for each sculpture - each is 2mm to 5mm in diameter, and 16 themed sculptures will be up on display.

SAFRA PUNGGOL OPEN HOUSE - #PGTHROWBACK

Caldecott Broadcast Centre will be open to the general public for the first time, thanks to the Singapore Heritage Festival (SHF). Visitors will get to explore the history of broadcasting in Singapore, see sets that were used for dramas, and go on celebrity- and industry veteran-led tours. There will even be hawker stalls that recall the days of old. This is your chance to see the place where Singapore’s first radio station was set up. Also on show will be theatre performances from Studio 6 that will revisit scenes from popular television programmes, such as The Little Nyonya. Look out for more from SHF, which in coming weeks will present art, food and more at the Singapore River, Bukit Pasoh and Little India. Some activities, such as tours, require registration. HEADS UP: EQUIVALENCE BY CHOW + LIN

View an art piece that comprises 1,000 photographs of recycled aluminium cans at Objectifs on April 25. The piece, created by local photographer Stefen Chow and economist Lin Huiyi, aims to let the viewer gain a better understanding of social and economic issues that affect the world. There will also be a panel discussion conducted by five established speakers, including Lin and Chow, during the event.
