SINGAPORE THEATRE FESTIVAL – GRANDMOTHER TONGUE

Thomas Lim’s funny and heart-warming play will make you laugh and remind Singaporeans of a time when dialects were more relevant across generations. The play centres on a young man’s struggle to connect with his 84-year-old grandmother who speaks Teochew. Along the way, the protagonist starts to understand what it means to spend decades in linguistic and cultural exile. Happening today and tomorrow, 3pm and 8pm, at LASALLE Creative Cube. Tickets start at S$35 at Sistic.
