A whisky bar, a private cigar room, a plush VIP area, and Asian art from emerging artists from around the region. These features are what party-goers can expect from Zouk latest offering Capital, which opens on Saturday (Feb 18).

The new Capital club — located on the second floor of Zouk at Clarke Quay and targeted at the urban, post-work crowd — will have the feel of an estate home, and will include a number of specially commissioned works in each room in the club. The island bar, for instance, will be lit by a luminous ceiling designed by Japanese artist Tetsuya Toshima. Expect it to help give guests the feeling of being submerged in a mystical pond shrouded with goldfishes and aquatic plants.

“We want all Zouk goers to enjoy themselves at the club and we do this by offering them a suite of experiences within a single complex ... While the space will present a very different climate from Zouk and Phuture, the DNA will still be deeply anchored in the music programming and beverage offerings that are unique to Zouk,” said Andrew Li, chief executive officer of Zouk.

Live lounge sets, as well as club sets from Zouk resident DJs, Jeremy Boon, Matthew and Andrew Tang, will help set the tone for music.

In a bid to support up-and-coming DJ talents, Capital will showcase local and regional female DJs. Local female guest DJs will be invited to helm the decks on Fridays, and a regional female DJ will be featured every last Friday of the month.

The entire Zouk complex will celebrate its official opening on March 4.
