Details for Mr Lee Kuan Yew's State Funeral Procession and State Funeral Service

SINGAPORE — The late Mr Lee Kuan Yew will make his final journey through the streets of Singapore this Sunday (March 29). 

As Mr Lee's casket makes it's way from Parliament House to the University Cultural Centre (UCC) at the National University of Singapore for the State Funeral Service at 2pm, there will be a ceremonial flypast and sailpast by the Republic of Singapore Air Force and Republic of Singapore Navy respectively. 

At about 4pm, the SCDF Public Warning System siren will be sounded twice island wide to signal the start and end of a minute of silence for the late Mr Lee.

Details of Mr Lee's State Funeral Procession and Service are as follows:

  • The State Funeral Procession will commence at 12.30pm and cover a distance of 15.4km, passing significant landmarks, such as Old Parliament House, City Hall and the Padang, as well as heartland areas, en route to UCC.
  • There will be a ceremonial flypast and sailpast by the Republic of Singapore Air Force and Republic of Singapore Navy respectively.
  • The SCDF Public Warning System siren will be sounded twice island wide at about 4pm to signal the start and end of a minute of silence for the late Mr Lee;
  • Live telecast of the State Funeral Procession and State Funeral Service will be available on national television and radio, as well as online at www.rememberingleekuanyew.sg and www.facebook.com/rememberingleekuanyew;
  • The State Funeral Service will also be shown live at all 18 of People’s Association community tribute sites, and all community centres.

During the State Funeral Procession, members of the public are advised to stay on the public footpaths for their own safety, and for the safety of others, the public is advised to refrain from throwing objects and operating unmanned aerial vehicles when the carriage passes, as this may disrupt the movement of the carriage.

Following the Funeral Service at UCC, the late Mr Lee will make his final journey to Mandai Crematorium. The cremation service will be private.
