SINGAPORE — The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) seized 1.1kg of Ice and nabbed two suspects yesterday (April 15) in its latest operation targeting a drug-trafficking syndicate.

The drug haul, estimated to be worth S$165,000, is sufficient to sustain nearly 629 abusers for a week, the CNB said.

Two Singaporean men, aged 38 and 40, were arrested at the ground lobby of a hotel in the city area after the CNB discovered their hideout. The men are believed to be the syndicate leader and his runner.

The drugs were later recovered when officers inspected the hotel room occupied by the suspects.

Investigations are still ongoing, said the CNB. If convicted, the suspects may face a death penalty.
