SINGAPORE - The Housing and Development Board is planning to complete and deliver more than 28,000 new flats next year, said Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan on his blog today (Sept 6). This will be double of the 13,600 flats that were built this year. “More than just meeting numbers, HDB is also delivering quality flats to home buyers,” said Mr Khaw. He gave the example of Floral Spring @ Yishun, a housing project which is located a site surrounded by existing residential developments. HDB and contractors had the challenge of completing this project on schedule while minimising inconvenience to surrounding residents and despite the site challenges, they achieved a high Construction Quality Assessment System (CONQUAS) score of 88 for this project, a score that is comparable to those achieved by condominiums, he said.
