3 injured in Woodlands Crescent fire

SINGAPORE — A fire broke out in a Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat this morning (June 10), injuring three and causing the evacuation of 150 residents from their homes, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said.

SINGAPORE — A fire broke out in a Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat this morning (June 10), injuring three and causing the evacuation of 150 residents from their homes, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said.

SCDF said it received the call for assistance at 3.18am, and put out the fire in 10 minutes. The fire started in one of the bedrooms of a unit in Block 788E before spreading outwards, resulting in the room being “totally damaged” and the living room left “partially damaged”, it added.

A 57-year-old Chinese male suffered a cardiac arrest as a result and was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital together with another 23-year-old male who suffered from smoke inhalation. A 58-year-old female who suffered from smoke inhalation was sent to the Singapore General Hospital, it said.
