3 more anonymous HIV test sites to be set up in 2014

SINGAPORE — The Health Ministry will be setting up three more anonymous HIV test sites in 2014, Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower Amy Khor announced this at a fund-raising event today morning (Dec 3).

SINGAPORE — The Health Ministry will be setting up three more anonymous HIV test sites in 2014, Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower Amy Khor announced this at a fund-raising event today morning (Dec 3).

This will bring the number of such test sites in Singapore up to 10.

With the increase in anonymous HIV test sites and the introduction of a mobile test service, the number of annual HIV tests carried out has increased from 5,500 in 2005 to 11,000 in 2012.

At the event, Dr Khor also stressed the importance of early detection of HIV infection. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
