600 Bukit Panjang residents mark new flyover with brisk walk

SINGAPORE — To mark the opening of a new flyover meant to ease the traffic load for those living in Bukit Panjang, 600 residents participated in a mass walk alongside Minister for Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan today (April 11).

SINGAPORE — To mark the opening of a new flyover meant to ease the traffic load for those living in Bukit Panjang, 600 residents participated in a mass walk alongside Minister for Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan today (April 11).

The new flyover, slated to open at 9am tomorrow, leads into the city and is along Upper Bukit Timah Road and Woodlands.

Joining the residents on the brisk walk today were Dr Balakrishnan, Dr Teo Ho Pin, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bukit Panjang Single-Member Constituency and MP Liang Eng Hwa.

In a Facebook post today, Dr Balakrishnan wrote: “Our town has been making steady progress over the years. Thank you all for your patience, suggestions and ideas.” CHANNEL NEWSASIA
