72-year-old woman dies from dengue

SINGAPORE — A 72-year-old woman who stayed at Simei Street 1 died from dengue on June 25, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) in a joint statement on Saturday (July 16).

SINGAPORE — A 72-year-old woman who stayed at Simei Street 1 died from dengue on June 25, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) in a joint statement on Saturday (July 16). 

The woman, a Singaporean, was admitted to Changi General Hospital on June 22. Her condition deteriorated and she died on June 25. 

The patient's residence at Simei Street 1 was an active 2-case dengue cluster, which was notified on June 25, said the statement. The cluster closed on July 4. 

"During the cluster, NEA had inspected the premises in the area, and detected and destroyed one mosquito breeding in a bamboo pole holder at Blk 135 Simei Street 1 ," said the statement.
