SINGAPORE — A total of 87 suspected drug offenders were nabbed after a four-day anti-drug oper-ation conducted by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), with support from the Singapore Police Force.

In statement released on Friday (July 21), the CNB said the operation saw officers conducting searches and raids across Singapore, in areas such as Bishan, Boon Lay, Geylang, Marsiling, Teck Whye, Telok Blangah, Toa Payoh, Woodlands and Yishun.

Various drugs were also seized, including about 95g of “Ice”, 54g of cannabis, 41g of heroin, 58 “Yaba” tab-lets, and small amounts of ketamine and “Ecstasy” tablets.

The operation began on July 17 and ended in the morning of July 21.

In one of the raids conducted on July 18 at Teck Whye Crescent, three people were arrested for being suspected drug traffickers and five more were nabbed for being suspected drug abusers.

Two of the suspected drug traffickers were Singaporean males — a 29-year-old and a 28-year-old — while the third was a 30-year-old female Singaporean.

About 35g of “Ice”, two digital weighing scales, numerous empty plastic packets and some drug-taking utensils were recovered from the 28-year-old male.

Further investigation saw CNB officers head to an apartment unit in Teck Whye, where officers recovered a total of about 10g of “Ice”, two “Ecstasy” tablets, three digital weighing scales, numerous empty plastic bags and numerous drug-taking utensils.

It was at the apartment where they arrested the female suspect and the suspected drug abusers, aged between 20 and 21. All of five are Singaporeans, with three of them male and two of them female.

CNB said that investigations into the drug activities of all the suspects are ongoing.
