In its evening update, NEA said thundery showers are forecast in the afternoon tomorrow.
As at 6pm, the 24-hour PSI was 41-55, while the three-hour PSI stood at 64.The one-hour PM2.5 was 12-36 µg/m3.
The Republic experienced showers over some parts in the early afternoon, with air quality in the good to moderate ranges since morning, said NEA, adding that the current conditions are expected to persist for the rest of the day.
A total of 20 hotspots were detected in Sumatra today, compared to 16 yesterday. “There have been showers over parts of Kalimantan and Sumatra during the day. Some haze was still observed over parts of southern Sumatra,” said NEA.
Given the air quality forecast for the next 24 hours, NEA advised that everyone can continue with normal activities. Persons who are not feeling well, especially the elderly and children, and those with chronic heart or lung conditions, should seek medical attention.
