SINGAPORE — The Amazon Prime Now service is now available to Singapore customers, after it was released on the Singapore iTunes and Google Play stores on Wednesday (July 26).

Amazon was strongly rumoured to launch its services in Singapore this week, according to a report by TechCrunch. Amazon’s entry in Singapore will be its first in South-east Asia and will challenge the likes of Lazada and RedMart in the local market.

Among the services expected to launch in Singapore include Amazon Prime, Amazon Prime Now fast delivery, and Amazon’s e-commerce services. Amazon Prime Now, for instance, allows customers to place orders for same-day or next-day deliveries.

According to information on the Amazon Prime Now app, there will be two delivery options for Singapore customers. The first is for orders less than S$40: It will cost S$5.99 to deliver the orders within two hours, or S$9.99 for one-hour delivery. Two-hour deliveries for orders more than S$40 will be free.

Delivery times in Singapore will be from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week. Two-hour delivery is available across all delivery areas, whereas one-hour delivery is only available in selected postal codes.

The Prime Now App says it delivers to addresses in Mainland Singapore and Sentosa but do not currently service outlying islands.
