Anton Casey and his employer Crossinvest Asia have 'parted ways'

SINGAPORE — British expatriate Anton Casey, whose remarks on “poor people” taking public transport caused online fury among Singaporeans, is no longer an employee of his company, Crossinvest Asia.

SINGAPORE — British expatriate Anton Casey, whose remarks on “poor people” taking public transport caused online fury among Singaporeans, is no longer an employee of his company, Crossinvest Asia.

In a statement posted on its Facebook today (Jan 25), Crossinvest Asia, a wealth management company, said it was “deeply concerned” by Mr Casey’s recent comments on social media, adding that it went against the company’s “core corporate and family values that are based on trust, mutual understanding and are respectful of diversity.”

The company, which posted an earlier statement on Jan 22 stating that it was investigating the comments made by Mr Casey, added in today’s post that “Crossinvest Asia and Mr Casey have parted ways with immediate effect.”
