SINGAPORE — Starting this month, condominium residents will be able to pay their management fees through AXS in a new service launched by the payment provider.

Called AXS Pay, it will benefit more than 30,000 residents of more than 100 properties initially.

The service is jointly developed with DBS to support small and medium enterprises in making their electronic payments over three AXS channels — online, via its mobile app or at the AXS stations.

Eventually, this new mode of payment will be extended to more types of payments, said AXS in a statement. For example, this would include home services like gas delivery, air-con servicing, as well as other services such as home tuition and enrichment classes.

To use this new service on the AXS channels, participating condominium residents can go to “Pay Others”, followed by “Condo/Bldg(MCST)”.

Members of the public can check if their condominiums are included in the list, by entering the Management Corporation Strata (MCST) number and Postal Code on the AXS channels.

Transaction fees have been waived for managing agents of condominiums. The participating managing agents include Savills Property Management and Property Facility Services.

“AXS Pay is the continued effort of AXS to extend more services that promote cashless transactions, catering to various businesses that may not have the economies of scale to embark on such activities.

“This will also help consumers, in this case the residents of the condominium and apartments, to consolidate their payment needs,” said AXS chief executive officer Joey Chang.

AXS said it will work with managing agents to add more condominiums to the list, in the coming months. Condominiums which wish to sign up can also contact AXS for more details.

Condominium resident Andrew Tan, 46, said it will be more convenient for him to pay his management fee via electronic means.

“I am presently paying by cheque, and would need to drop it off at the management office when it’s open, which is more troublesome,” said the engineer.
