SINGAPORE — Heart Truths’ blogger Roy Ngerng today (May 21) announced on Facebook that he has submitted his application to be a Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP).

Mr Ngerng posted a photo of himself holding his application outside Parliament House, with the caption: “Looking forward to representing the voices of Singaporeans in Parliament. If I get selected!”

The proposal was submitted by fellow blogger Han Hui Hui, the Facebook post said.

Mr Ngerng was in the news recently over a legal request by Drew & Napier, sent on behalf of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, to remove an article that had been “published maliciously”, according to the lawyer’s letter.

The blog post at the centre of the legal demand was taken down later the same day. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
