SINGAPORE — A body, believed to be that of missing hiker Steward Lee, was found at the top level of a multi-storey carpark in Bukit Panjang on Monday evening (Feb 20), the police said.

Mr Lee, 27, has been missing since last Friday, sparking a massive search operation, in areas such as the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, the rail corridor, Zhenghua Park as well as the Dairy Farm and Singapore quarry area - places he had been known to visit frequently.

He was last seen at 2pm on Friday at Block 407 Fajar Road in Bukit Panjang, where his family lives. His body was found Monday at Block 468A Segar Road, about a 15-minute walk away.

The police said they were alerted to the body of a man found at the carpark of Block 468A at around 6.52pm on Monday. The man was pronounced dead by paramedics at scene. The case has been classified as unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.

Mr Lee’s elder sister, Lee Yunqin, had posted details about her brother on Facebook to get volunteers to help with search efforts. A group of more than 70, including police officers, park rangers and volunteers, had combed the areas he was known to frequent over the weekend, but efforts had come to naught as of Sunday night.
