SINGAPORE — CapitaLand has dedicated more than S$2 million to celebrating Singapore’s Golden Jubilee. Themed Building People. Building Communities, the year-long celebrations started with the launch of a crowdsourcing digital platform, #BuildSG2065, yesterday.

The public can share ideas for Singapore’s built environment in 50 years at the #BuildSG2065 website. These can be on topics such as Go Green, Smart Spaces, Space-age Kampungs and Weatherproof World.

Submissions can be in the form of original images, videos and text, and the ideas selected will be part of The Straits Times 170th Anniversary Jubilee Exhibition at the ArtScience Museum from July to September.

CapitaLand will also fund other events, venue sponsorships, special treats for staff and family members, internships and prizes, as well as donations from the CapitaLand Hope Foundation.

The company has also donated more than 500 artefacts from the Raffles Hotel Museum Collection, which it owns, to the National Collection as a tribute to the nation. Some of the artefacts date as far back as the mid-19th century.

The company will also organise a charity walk for its annual Staff Volunteer Day, which will see participants walk past four of its heritage properties — Ascott Raffles Place Singapore, Clarke Quay, Raffles City and Plaza Singapura.

CapitaLand will also publish a book titled The Art of Building Communities featuring a selection of international and local art installations displayed at its various properties in Singapore. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
