SINGAPORE - A silver Mazda CX7 burst into flames near a mosque in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 last night.  Thankfully, none of the four passengers were injured after they fled the eight-year-old car when smoke started billowing from the boot at about 8pm.

A student, who asked to be known only as Emily, was in the passenger seat then. She told TODAY that she was on her way to a movie screening at Ang Mo Kio Hub when the incident happened. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted at 8.05pm, and sent a Red Rhino, a fire engine and two fire bikes to the scene. The fire was extinguished in 10 minutes, and the cause of it is being investigated. There were no casualties or injuries.
