Cheats caught for using stolen debit card on S$800k diamond ring
SINGAPORE — Two men who attempted to use a stolen debit card to buy an S$800,000 diamond ring were arrested by the police on Wednesday (Oct 4).

SINGAPORE — Two men who attempted to use a stolen debit card to buy an S$800,000 diamond ring were arrested by the police on Wednesday (Oct 4).
TODAY understands the Malaysian duo, aged 45 and 56, faced problems during the payment process when they tried using the stolen card at a jewellery shop in Lucky Plaza.
While it is uncertain who owns the debit card, TODAY understands that the card is issued by an Indian bank.
Sensing something was amiss, the owner of the shop called the police while the men were at the shop. They were arrested before they could leave.
The police said that the suspects will be charged in court on Friday for attempted cheating and will be remanded for further investigations.
If found guilty, they face up to three years in prison, and/or a fine.
