COEs mostly up except for big cars and motocycles

SINGAPORE - Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for vehicles mostly increased at the end of the latest bidding exercise today (Aug 21), except in the categories for big cars and motorcycles.

SINGAPORE - Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for vehicles mostly increased at the end of the latest bidding exercise today (Aug 21), except in the categories for big cars and motorcycles. COE premiums for small cars (1,600cc and below) continued to increase marginally to close 0.85 per cent higher at S$76,200, compared with S$75,556 in the previous bidding exercise. Premiums for big cars (1,601cc and above) decreased by 1.28 per cent from S$77,600 to S$76,607. In the Open category, where COEs can be used for any vehicle type but end up mainly used for cars, the premium increased by 1.58 per cent to S$79,223 from S$77,989. The COE premium for commercial vehicles continued to increase the most, by 4.94 per cent to S$71,001, while the premium for two-wheelers decreased by 5.13 per cent to S$1,700.
