SINGAPORE — A series of six free outdoor concerts will be held at various parks around Singapore, as part of the SG50 celebrations, National Parks Board (NParks) announced in a press release today (March 6).

The first concert - held at the Grand Lawns I and II of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park on Saturday, March 14, at 6pm - will feature local talents including Kit Chan, Olivia Ong, Jack & Rai, and The Lorong Boys, as well as community performances by Catholic High School, MacPherson Primary School and Kebun Baru CC’s Singapore First Elvis Fan Club.

Prior to the concert, members of the public can relive their childhood with games of yesteryear at the park and participate in the SG Heart Map Kite Festival. They are also invited to be part of the SG Heart Map formation at the heart of the park, NParks said.

The remaining concerts will be held at:

•May 9: Admiralty Park

•Aug 7-8: Singapore Botanic Gardens

•Sep 26: Bedok Reservoir Park

•Oct 31: Jurong Central Park

•Dec 19: Gardens by the Bay

The concerts are held in conjunction with SG Heart Map @ Park, the first celebration of the SG Heart Map initiative. It seeks to weave memorable past places, meaningful new places and aspirations for future places into a collective map through the shared stories of Singaporeans. Those who wish to share their stories of treasured places may do so via the SG Heart Map vans onsite.
