SINGAPORE — The High Court has reserved its judgment on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s application for a summary judgment in his defamation suit against blogger Roy Ngerng.

A closed hearing at the High Court started at 10am this morning (Sept 18) and concluded with Justice Lee Seiu Kin withholding his decision to a later date.

Mr Lee had filed a defamation lawsuit against Mr Ngerng on May 29, and on July 10 applied for a summary judgment, where the plaintiff asks the court to rule without trial on grounds that the defendant has no real defence to contest his claim.

The suit against Mr Ngerng arose from a blog post on May 15, titled Where Your CPF Money Is Going: Learning From The City Harvest Trial, which alleged that CPF monies had been misappropriated.
