SINGAPORE — The damaged fence at SMRT’s bus depot in Ang Mo Kio, initially thought to be an act of vandalism, was actually caused by a “prior unreported motor accident”, police said today (Nov 20).

The fence around the bus depot was found cut wide open on Nov 13. A perimeter fence — a second around the depot — was not breached, and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) had said then, that there had been no unauthorised entry.

A police spokesman said: “Further police investigations have revealed that the fencing was damaged by a prior unreported motor accident at the location.

“The motorist is currently assisting police in the investigation.”
