Drugs worth more than S$101,000 seized

SINGAPORE — The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has seized drugs estimated to be worth more than S$101,000 from two operations.

SINGAPORE — The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has seized drugs estimated to be worth more than S$101,000 from two operations.

CNB officers seized a total of about 500g of cannabis, 739g of heroin and some “Ice”.

The cannabis was seized yesterday (Feb 12) when CNB officers were deployed in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 to observe two suspected drug traffickers.

At about 4.10pm, officers spotted the first suspect, a 39-year-old Malaysian man arriving on a motorcycle and meeting up with a 33-year-old Singaporean man. Both suspects were subsequently arrested.

The cannabis was found in the fuel compartment of the Malaysian’s motorcycle, estimated to have a street worth of about S$16,500. Cash amounting to S$1,200 was found on the Singaporean.

Investigations into the drug trafficking activities of both men are ongoing.

The heroin was seized yesterday in a separate operation in the vicinity of Paya Lebar Road.

CNB officers were deployed to observe two suspected drug traffickers. At about 7.10pm, the first suspect, a 33-year-old Singaporean man, arrived on his motorcycle and parked near the motorcycle belonging to the second suspect, a 21-year-old Malaysian man.

Both men were arrested and about 739g of heroin and 44g of “Ice”, estimated to be worth more than S$84,000, were recovered from the Singaporean man’s motorcycle. Cash amounting to S$7,750 was found on the Malaysian.

Investigations into the drug trafficking activities of both men are ongoing.
