Duo arrested for alleged armed robbery with hurt

SINGAPORE — A 29-year-old man and 19-year-old woman have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case where a woman was robbed and stabbed near Blk 426, Clementi Avenue 3.
The victim, a 33-year-old woman, had reported to the police in the early morning of Jan 22 that she had been stabbed while being robbed of her handbag and wallet containing S$300 by an unknown man.
After establishing the identities of the suspects, the police arrested the pair in Geylang today (Jan 30). The stolen handbag and wallet were recovered and seized as case exhibits.
The two suspects will be charged in Court at 9am tomorrow for the offence of armed robbery with hurt. If found guilty, they face up to 20 years in jail and up to 12 strokes of the cane.
